The story of this playful St. John’s engagement session actually starts months ago, when Tayler’s mom hired me for family photos over the Summer. And during their shoot – Tristin proposed!!! It was so much fun to capture the family’s excitement as these two OFFICIALLY decided to tie the knot. It was such a special moment, I knew their 2025 wedding was going to be amazing.
We met up at the Arboretum during golden hour for their engagement session, and Tayler and Tristin were so excited to have photos of this season in life. There’s nothing quite like being engaged. It’s the best in-between time in life.
You can just see their joy in the photos. Their laughter and familiarity was so present. They really, truly love each other. Tayler raved about how much Tristin just loves to make the people he loves happy (well, that and Minnesota sports! But who doesn’t!?) And Tristin talked about how much Tayler can’t wait to start a family. I knew from the moment Tristin popped the question during our portraits, that their loved ones were going to be a huge part of their wedding process. And I love that! When you get to have your loved ones close to you during your big day… it’s everything!
When I asked these two lovebirds what vibe they envisioned for this playful St. John’s Engagement session of theirs, Tayler said:
“Fall vibes! With some blue, because our colors for the wedding are gonna be dusty blue and navy blue”. UM YES PLEASE! I love that they are also thinking ahead to tie in their theme, so they can seamlessly use these photos in the reception if they want!
They opted for denim and neutral tops! I loved the classic ripped jeans and white tee that Tayler wore. And Tristin perfectly complimented with his off-white hoodie and jeans. (If your man is looking for inspo on what to wear at your engagement sessions, Tristin’s outfit is a great staple to replicate!) We frolicked around the arboretum, and these two were even adventurous enough to follow my lead into the water! Yes please!
We wrapped up their playful St. John’s engagement shoot with a quick outfit change! Tayler stuck to the white bridal theme with a little Summer dress. And Tristin complimented her with a green button up. I loved both looks on them!
I cannot wait for their wedding at The Grands at Mulligans in Sartell next year!
