Want to get inspired for your April wedding? Might I introduce you to Tayler and Tristin’s big day at The Grands at Mulligan! This beautiful day was full to the brim of JOY and laughter and fun. I felt so honored to be their Minnesota wedding photographer, capturing all those moments.
You know… some wedding days just feel electric, in the best way possible. And this was one of those days when the energy never dipped, the laughter was nonstop, and every detail felt deeply personal.
From the start, it was clear that Tayler and Tristin cared most about time with their people. They built in time for first looks with the people closest for them: Tristin’s emotional first look with his mom and dad left everyone teary-eyed, and Tayler carved out intentional moments with her dad, her stepdad, and her bridesmaids. I don’t often see multiple first looks in a wedding, but I truly loved it. All the honest emotion and connective moments? A photographer’s dream. I loved being able to document it all!
And The Grands at Mulligan was the perfect venue for all of it. There were so many good locations to choose from for those special moments.
And can we have a moment for Tayler’s bride vibes? Her off-the-shoulder lace gown was timeless and elegant – paired with diamond accessories and a bouquet of cream florals with just a touch of soft blue, she looked every bit the classic bride.
Her bridesmaids wore mixed shades of blue that tied beautifully into the spring palette, and the whole wedding party brought major hype. They were clearly a close-knit crew, and it made the entire day feel like one big celebration. We had so much fun during wedding party photos. Tayler and Tristin were totally down for creative ideas, including one of my favorite shots of the day — when the groomsmen tossed Tayler into the air! It’s those kinds of moments that say “this is our day” and make it feel fully alive.
Another example of a personal detail: Tayler and Tristin surprised each other with custom Nike sneakers in their wedding colors. They opened them before the ceremony, laced them up together, and had a moment that was low-key, fun, and personal. I love when couples lean into who they are and find meaningful ways to show up fully on their wedding day. Yes please!
We can’t talk about their big day without mentioning the reception! A total dance party. The lights, the energy, the joy — everyone hit the floor and didn’t leave it. But before the night wrapped, we snuck outside for golden hour portraits together. This is always one of my favorite moments in a wedding day. Not only is the light pure magic, but the newlyweds are always glowing in that “we just got married” vibe. Just the two of them, soaking it all in, taking a beat to be fully present before heading back into the party.
Tayler and Tristin’s day was the perfect blend of heartfelt moments, fun energy, and creative freedom. It was a reminder that the best weddings aren’t about checking boxes—they’re about making space for connection, celebration, and a whole lot of joy.
