Mya and Max’s North Shore Elopement is one I’ll truly never forget. Amidst some wild elements, I joined them on Lake Superior to capture their intimate and intentional celebration of love. The images speak for themselves:
It was as windy, beautiful, and joy-filled as you could ever hope for.
We met up on a warm (okay, hot) Friday, with fog hanging low over the rocky waterscape. Once the bride and groom took separate moments to get dressed and ready, we headed to their first look, when the wind picked up and just never let go. You’d think that would throw off the vibe, but honestly? It made this elopement feel even more alive. I watched as they embraced and doted on each other’s outfits before exchanging private vows and a sweet embrace. It felt like something out of a movie – just the two of them taking in the view, the moment, and each other.
It wasn’t long before the beach was full of Max and Mya’s most loyal and loving family and friends. The Floral Archway was the perfect compliment to the scenery. Smiles spread across everyone’s faces as the groom’s best friend gave a heart-warming and hilarious tribute to the couple. Once the rings were exchanged, the beach bursted with applause and hugs poured in. Little ones giggled and played along the shore while the newlyweds smiled for a few quick portraits. It was the kind of authentic magic I just adore being a part of.
Soon after group portraits were complete, we all headed over to Bluefin Grille, where the Bride and Groom entered a delicately decorated room and celebrated with their people in the most relaxed, love-drenched way. The right people, the right place, and the kind of love that doesn’t need anything extra to feel absolutely perfect. That’s what I love so much about being an intimate wedding and elopement photographer, my couple’s have more space to breathe and to let the day unfold naturally.
Mya and Max, you two are pure joy. Thank you for inviting me into your story and letting me document the start of this new chapter. Your day was laid-back, beautiful, and full of heart – everything an elopement should be.
If you’re dreaming of an intentional North Shore Elopement, let’s chat. I’m all in for windswept hair, meaningful moments, and love that feels true to you.
