I live for the unique energy each couple brings to their day, and Marie and Alex’s Laid-Back Summer Wedding was the perfect blend of heartfelt moments and easy joy from beginning to end.
The day began at Paynesville Evangelical Church, a cozy and welcoming space where Marie and Alex vowed their eternal commitment to one-another. What made it especially touching was that the ceremony was officiated by a pastor who has been part of their family for years. I find these connections bring such a beautiful personal touch to the day. Honestly, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room, and I could truly feel the deep love and support from every guest present.
Following the ceremony, everyone made their way to Brooten Pavilion for the reception. The vibe shifted to full-on relaxed celebration. I swear, It was one of the most laid-back days I’ve ever photographed in the best way possible. No stressing or rushing – just good food, great company..
..And a couple who was clearly soaking in every single moment.
Something I adore about their love story is Marie and Alex’s deep beginnings. They first met in elementary school. and even though Alex had a crush on Marie by second grade, their romance didn’t blossom until freshman year of high school. Since then, their relationship has been grounded in a deep trust and mutual respect. Alex’s proposal at a waterfall in Yellowstone says everything about the kind of thoughtful and adventurous love they share.
Family is clearly at the heart of their lives, and it showed in every detail of the day. From the meaningful ceremony to the way their families mingled like one big unit at the reception.
We wrapped up the evening with an incredible sunset that seemed like a gift just for them.
Marie and Alex’s laid-back summer wedding reminded me why I love what I do. The ease they executed gave way to such genuine connection between their loved ones. It was a true honor to witness and capture it all!
