Ummm, are you ready for this double rainbow engagement session?? I don’t think you are!! It feels like it’s straight out of a movie! Did someone remake The Notebook?? I am obsessed with these, and I can’t wait to show you.
From the open fields to the sudden summer rain, everything about this evening reflected who Tanya and Mitchell are at their core.
They’re grounded, and joyful, and deeply connected to each other. They’re also deeply connected to the land they call home, and it was so much fun to capture that for them!
This session took place on their beloved farm, surrounded by wide green pastures, hay bales, and their sweet animals. Storm clouds rolled in slowly, softening the light and creating a cinematic atmosphere. Then the rain arrived, followed by not one but two glittering rainbows stretching across the sky. It was the kind of moment you cannot plan but instantly know you will never forget.
So here I am, dreaming up another double rainbow engagement session!
To start out their photos, Tanya wore a soft, ruffled neutral top paired with denim and boots, which perfectly matched the vibe of the day. Mitchell complemented her in a green tee, jeans, and a ball cap that matched the laid back feel of the farm.
Their story is one rooted in history, and you can tell from the familiarity between them. Tanya and Mitchell first knew each other back in high school. Years later, they reconnected at a mutual friend’s wedding where they were both part of the wedding party. From that weekend on, they just… kept choosing each other. Week after week. Eventually, that meant cleaning out a farmhouse, moving in together, and building a life side by side.
As the rain trickled down, they leaned into it.
Sharing quiet laughs under a clear umbrella. Walking hand in hand through the grass. Stealing kisses beside hay bales while their calves wandered nearby. Nothing felt rushed or forced this afternoon. It was real life unfolding naturally, that I had the great honor to capture.
Their relationship is built on shared passions. Farming, outdoor adventures, fishing, hunting, and caring for animals are all part of their everyday rhythm. They include each other in everything they do, whether that means bow fishing, bowling on date nights, or dreaming about their future together. That steady partnership felt like a central theme during their session.
Mitchell proposed during their annual trip to Lake of the Woods, choosing a place filled with memories for them. (We love a sentimental man!) Tanya said yes to her keeper, and he said yes to his. A promise that fits them perfectly.
This double rainbow engagement session was more than just beautiful scenery and lucky timing. It was a reflection of a couple who always choose each other, no matter the weather.
