Since the moment Eric and Erin inquired with me, and told me about their outdoor elopement at a friend’s home I knew it was going to be such a fun time! I’m so excited to finally be able to share it with you!
Erin and Eric invited their closest friends and family to an intimate celebration at a dear friend’s home here in Minnesota.
Guests arrived bundled up against the crisp air, ready to celebrate Eric & Erin’s big moment and watch them say “I Do” on the sprawling lawn!
But rewind with me earlier in the day! Because as their Minnesota wedding photographer, I had the privilege of arriving at the very beginning. These two got ready in the house, in separate rooms so they could save that first glimpse of each other for the ceremony. Surrounded by their closest people, the got dressed & ready to surprise their friends!
Erin wore a stunning one shoulder gown from Wedding and Tuxedo Connection in Richmond, MN. The structured satin skirt flowed beautifully when she walked, and the statement bow detail at her shoulder added a modern touch. Her hair, styled by Ashley Bous Beauty and Bridal, was pulled back into soft curls that framed her face. She carried a rich bouquet filled with deep burgundy blooms, textured greenery, and seasonal florals that perfectly complemented the autumn setting.
Eric kept things classic and comfortable in a black blazer, white button down, jeans, and boots. The attire matched the laid back and meaningful vibe of the day.
Before anyone arrived, Erin and Eric snuck out the ceremony location to share a private first touch at the altar.
Standing on opposite sides of the barn doors, they held hands and read personal notes to one another. It was quiet and heartfelt. A moment just for them before stepping into forever.
While I love all the commotion of a wedding day, I will forever cherish those quiet moments of you two alone… just taking in how momentous this day is! And that it’s finally here!
This was definitely one of my favorite moments from their outdoor elopement at a friend’s home.
The ceremony was officiated by the groom’s best friend, and there was not a dry eye in the crowd. The open fields and quiet countryside created a peaceful backdrop as they exchanged rings in front of the wooden doors.
Afterward, guests enjoyed a cozy reception with catering by Von Hanson’s Meats and a charming pie display instead of a traditional cake. Under a tent strung with café lights, Erin and Eric shared their first dance and celebrated with their favorite people. It was so warm and unfiltered. I was so honored to document these moments for them!
As a Minnesota wedding photographer, days like this truly remind me of what matters most.
We ended the evening with golden hour portraits along a quiet country road, the sun wrapping them in the softest glow.
Their outdoor elopement at a friend’s home was simple, meaningful, and entirely their own. And truly, it was perfect.
