The Story: A Laid-Back Rural Summer Wedding
Let’s hear it for Kayla and Nick, the happy couple who shared the most beautiful summer wedding day in Richmond! These two sports fans brought the energy, the love, and even their furry best friend Mauer, who stole the show with his impressive aisle run (seriously, that doggo deserves a gold medal!).
Now, their love story might not have started on a field, but it did spark on the ever-popular Tinder. Talk about a modern-day meet-cute! But their proposal? Pure adorableness. Originally planning a pheasant hunting trip, Nick ended up popping the question at a local Wildlife Management Area after throwing a dummy for Mauer (who, by the way, got a big vote of confidence before the big ask!).
While the weather threatened rain clouds, these two lovebirds enjoyed a day blessed with sunshine, a cool breeze, and an abundance of love from their amazing family and friends. We were so honored to capture all the beautiful moments – from the heartwarming ceremony to the laughter-filled reception. Kayla looked radiant, Nick beamed with pride, and Mauer? Well, Mauer just looked like a very good boy (who also happens to be the best wingman a guy could ask for!).
Congratulations again, Kayla and Nick! We wish you a lifetime of happiness together, filled with many more adventures (and maybe some pheasant hunting, too!). And to Mauer, thanks for reminding us that sometimes, the best parts of life come with four legs and a wagging tail.
Reflection:
Watching Kayla and Nick celebrate their love story with such joy and surrounded by their incredible support system was truly heartwarming. As a photographer, there’s no greater privilege than capturing these once-in-a-lifetime moments, and Kayla and Nick’s wedding day was one I’ll definitely never forget. Their genuine happiness, playful spirit, and love for each other (and their pup!) shone through every image, making it a true joy to document. I wish them all the best in their new chapter together, and can’t wait to share their full gallery so they can relive the magic for years to come!
