As a Minnesota wedding photographer, I’ve been lucky enough to explore so many amazing locations. Some places just have that extra magic, and I can’t help but recommend them over and over again to my couples. If you’re on the hunt for the perfect spot, here are some of my absolute favorite Central Minnesota engagement session locations to spark a little inspiration!
St. John’s Arboretum (St. Joseph)
Imagine a prairie during golden hour, a beautiful lake, wetlands, and lush forests all in one place. This spot really has it all, and it’s a photographer’s dream. There are so many landscapes, so there is something special for everyone. The only thing missing from here is you!
Belle Prairie Park (Little Falls)
Think tree-lined paths, a charming bench overlooking the water, and gorgeous wooded areas. This park is a gem no matter the season. From vibrant fall leaves to the snow-covered ground in winter and vibrant greenery in the spring, you can’t go wrong here.
Warner Lake County Park (Clearwater)
There are trails galore and, of course, a gorgeous lake. This spot is just begging for a sunset stroll. The beach is perfect for a barefoot walk or some romantic moments wading in the water. For those a little less adventurous, you can head to the bridge and the dock for some equally beautiful shots!
Downtown St. Cloud
If you are craving some city vibes with some beautiful architecture, downtown St. Cloud is the perfect spot for you. Think crossing the street hand in hand, leaning on brick buildings, and stealing a kiss on a cute doorstep. You can also take a stroll down the Mississippi River walkway for some gorgeous views.
Quarry Park (St. Cloud)
Must. See. Seriously. This is a truly unique place that is GORGEOUS. This former granite quarry has been transformed into a stunning nature preserve, with trails winding through wetlands, woodlands, and towering cliffs surrounding reflecting pools. It’s a one-of-a-kind location!
Millstream Park (Waite Park)
Millstream Park is a hidden treasure, perfect for couples who love the tranquility of nature. The wooded walking trail along the Watab River is intimate and peaceful. It’s a smaller location, but it’s packed with charm and beautiful scenery.
Mississippi River County Park (Rice)
This park along the Mississippi River is a mix of wide open lawns, prairies, and wooded areas. There is a little something for everyone. And if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, you could even incorporate their archery range into your session!
Montissippi River County Park (Monticello)
Montissippi River County Park is all about those peaceful, scenic vibes. The paved walking paths wind through tall trees. You can take a stroll through the woods or head to the Mississippi River dock for some waterside fun. The river at sunset is a particularly gorgeous backdrop!
These are some of my favorite Central Minnesota engagement session locations, but remember the best spot is one that holds special meaning for YOU.
