When Morgan and Thomas called me to talk about their romantic Winter wedding in Brooten, I knew it was going to be such a special day. Their whole celebration was centered around their family and loved ones, and the joy of the day together. We love a wedding that goes back to its roots: a celebration.
We really lucked out with the weather on this beautiful day, too! Late November in Minnesota has a tendency to be well below freezing, with just enough snow to make things uncomfortable. But not this beautiful day! We had just-above freezing temps, no wind, and enough sunshine peeking through the clouds to keep us warm. Talk about a God-send. It was the perfect day.
The girls got ready at Morgan’s parents’ farm, and the vibes were so chill. It was one of the most relaxed and laid-back morning I’ve ever seen as a Minnesota wedding photographer. While the bride was getting ready, I captured some detail photos before we got her in her beautiful dress. And can we have a moment for her dress?? It was so elegant and beautiful, one of my favs ever!
Soon after, Thomas arrived and we did a first look inside. He was so enamored with his bride, it was hard not to cry as I photographed their moment!
After we wrapped up the first look, we hopped over to their neighbor’s property for some portrait time. Scroll down and tell me you don’t LOVE the romantic winter wedding vibes with the pine trees and snow on the ground. I was so happy the sunshine made it possible for us to shoot outside that day.
After that (and a few much needed warm-up breaks in the fish house!!) we drove back to Brooten to prepare for the ceremony. The priest and this church were a very important part of the couple’s Catholic journey, so it was very special to document. They had a traditional Catholic ceremony and became husband and wife in front of all their friends and family (!!!) I loved the little dip kiss Thomas did for Morgan at the end of the aisle. They are so cute and were so excited to be newlyweds!
Being it gets dark so quickly in November, we captured sunset photos (though there was no sunset to be seen! haha!) right after the ceremony, before we headed over to the reception.
It was a perfect night with all of the typical food, speeches, and dancing! I loved the familiar family vibes at Sportsman’s Den. Everyone just ate, drank and danced the night away together like one big happy family.
This romantic winter wedding reminded me why I LOVE being a photographer. Morgan and Thomas – congratulations again!!
