Wow, I can’t wait to show you this Staples, Minnesota Engagement session!! Ashlyn found this location for us, since it’s near where she works! She stumbled across it, so when we were chatting locations for this session, she recommended it. I’m so glad she did!! It’s so dreamy and beautiful in that golden hour lighting.
We had the most perfect day in March, and completely lucked out for weather. It was a balmy high-50s with the most gorgeous sunset. Like, does it get any better as a Minnesota wedding photographer? No. No, it does not.

So how did we end up at this Staples, Minnesota Engagement shoot?
Well, if you rewind to how these two met, you’d find them in a bar in Brookings! They connected because Tony went to SDSU with Ashlyn’s high school friend. These two quickly started dating, and fell deeply in love. They knew they wanted to spend their life together. So on a chilly, cold New Year’s Eve day, Tony got down on one knee at Falls Park in Sioux Falls. And Ashlyn was so surprised!! And, of course, she said YES!!!
Before our session together, I asked these two: What is your favorite thing about your relationship?
And this is what they said:
How much fun we have together and how we balance each other. Our favorite date night is simply having dinner together! Oh, and cribbage night.
We love lake days and spending time with our families. We also both love to cook and frequently argue over who is making the meal 😉
This Staples, Minnesota engagement session was so much fun to photograph! I can’t wait to capture their big day! They plan to have a wonderful wedding with their closest friends and family, and dance the night away to Chris Stapleton (their favorite artist!!) on the dance floor!
After their wedding, Ashlyn will quickly be finishing up her med school training to become a doctor (talk about an amazing woman!) and Tony is already an established carpenter.
