It was a classic Minnesota Spring Wedding Day – gray skies, gusty winds, and just cold enough to be annoying. But the very moment I passed through the doors of The Regency, all my worries melted away. I was transported into the coziest space, enrobed with ivory and blue accents, and completely filled to the brim with love for Rachel and David. The finishing touch was absolutely the floral full-moon arch provided by Green Thumbs etc. It was soft and timeless and just lovely to take in.
Those who know them can agree, R & D are as down-to-earth and kind as they come. And it’s no surprise their wedding reflected who they are perfectly; heartfelt and full of genuine moments from start to finish. And on this day, they radiated a sense of calm that anyone in the room could feel. From their precious vow exchange to the glances of pure joy they shared on the dance floor, it was a timeless celebration for the books!
And their people? The greatest of all time, I mean it. You could feel the support and warmth just radiating off their family and friends. Possibly my favorite part of the day was during speeches when the bride’s dad had us all a little misty-eyed (he might deny it, but I swear I saw the groom wiping his eyes too). The laughter, the happy tears, the dancing – it all made for such a rich and beautiful day.
We ended the night with honoring all married couples for a heritage dance, the last of them was the Bride’s adorable grandparents. The memory of everyone cheering them on as they celebrated over four decades together will get to live on forever. I’m so honored to have been a part of documenting it all. Days like this make me so grateful to be a Minnesota Wedding Photographer.
So take a calming breath, and walk with me through this (chilly, but ever heartwarming) Spring Wedding Day.
Thank you to R&J and all their loved-ones for letting me be a part of something so meaningful.
It’s always an honor to witness so much love in one place.
