If you’re planning on hosting a kid-friendly event, this Wild Child Wedding is definitely something to take note of. The whole day was a child-centric dream, with young ones running freely and families celebrating together. There were giggles at every turn, and I truly couldn’t stop smiling behind my camera! Even Minnesota’s unpredictable weather decided to give us the perfect amount of clouds and gorgeous light all day long.
It was the most whimsical celebration; full of love and little feet running everywhere.
From the moment I arrived at The Grands, it was clear this day was going to be something extra sweet. Chris and Marie were committed to highlighting all the amazing kiddo’s in their lives, especially their own baby girl. Just imagine a tiny toddler in a white tutu dress, tucked in a wagon, flanked by energetic ring bearers. Pure adorableness, I tell you!
And let’s not forget about the details, because WOW. It was important to the bride that we documented the rings of the women who came before her. From her mother’s, grandmother’s, and even great-grandmother’s rings. Each golden hoop told a generational story that felt both timeless and incredibly personal. It’s an honor to capture such standout details of the day, and why I just love being a Minnesota Wedding Photographer!
Following the ceremony, the wedding party and I snuck off to a local hangout spot to snap a few more relaxed photos. M & C posed for their newlywed portraits on the bridge before joining the others for a quick drink (and some candids for me, of course). It gave everyone a chance to breathe and laugh a little before heading back to the party.
And oh, what a party it was!
The reception was buzzing! The dance floor stayed completely packed, the photo booth never stopped hopping, and DJ Derek Lee brought the kind of energy that only a local radio host (moonlighting as a DJ) can. He was an absolute blast to work with and kept the vibes just right all night long.
But above all the smiles and joyful chaos of kiddos (I counted about 20) what stood out most was the bond between these two. Marie and Chris, you are truly made for one another and it was such an honor to capture these memories for your family. Your wild child wedding truly demonstrated that it is possible to take everyone’s enjoyment into consideration. Making the whole experience a treasured memory for all, big or small!
