When Paige and Chase asked me to fly to their epic adventure engagement session in Alaska, I knew it was going to be incredible. But I don’t think anything could have prepared me for the beauty of this place. Rolling green hills stretched as far as the eye could see, creeks wound quietly through the valleys, and entire fields of bright purple fireweed lit up the landscape. Add in the moody skies and mountain ridges, and it honestly felt like stepping into another world.
What made this session even better was how natural and easy Paige and Chase were together.
She wore a simple knit white dress with cowgirl boots, while he rocked a plaid shirt and jeans. And the two of them fit seamlessly into the wild Alaskan backdrop.
They danced on dirt roads, skipped across creek rocks, and laughed their way through the tall grass and flowers. Later, Paige changed into a casual green top and jeans, and they playfully ran around the mountaintop, piggyback rides, twirls, and all.
This isn’t just a place they stumbled into: it’s home. Paige and Chase spend months at a time out here, off the grid and surrounded by this exact beauty.
Getting to step into that part of their story for their adventure engagement session in Alaska was amazing.
The landscape that shapes their lives together, was the perfect backdrop to document their time as fiancee. The photos don’t just show Alaska… they show their Alaska.
The best part? This is only the beginning. I’ll get to celebrate with Paige and Chase again next May for their wedding at Shady’s at Sunset Bay in central Minnesota. If their adventure engagement session in Alaska was this full of joy, love, and meaning, I can only imagine how unforgettable their wedding day will be.
This is why I love being a Minnesota wedding photographer. Chasing your stories all over the world, in all the places you call home.
