Some celebrations just feel like pure… magic… from start to finish. And Rachel and Vincent’s black & white wedding day was exactly that. From the elegant ceremony at Saint Bartholomew in Wayzata to their lively reception at Plymouth Community Center, every moment radiated joy, timeless style, and that unmistakable kind of love that makes everyone around them smile.
The Summer weather couldn’t have been more perfect!! A cool 65 degrees with soft sunshine peeking through the clouds. It was one of those dreamy Minnesota days that hinted at fall just around the corner, making everyone feel cozy and excited for the season ahead. As a Minnesota wedding photographer, I was in heaven! Love my Summer weddings!
Rachel’s bridal look was the definition of classic elegance for her black & white wedding day.
Her gown from Kleinfeld Bridal was sleek and minimal. It had a dramatic oversized bow cascading down the back that made every photo feel straight out of a bridal editorial. Her hair was pulled into a chic low bun, highlighting her natural beauty and showing off the gown. From pearl drop earrings to her engagement ring from Continental Diamond, to her classic white heels tied with matching bows, she was perfection!
Vincent looked just as sharp in a classic black tux from Knights Chamber Maple Grove, the perfect complement to the day’s black-and-white palette.
They got ready separately with their best friends and family. And that happy time in the mid-morning was so laid-back and full of laughter. I loved the quiet current of hype running throughout the day! Heather Marie did Rachel’s hair & makeup, and she did such an amazing job!
Their special first look was filled with so much joy as well. Soft smiles, and a few happy tears. The way they melted into each other made it clear they were each other’s home.
Watching them together, it was impossible not to feel the depth of their connection.
The energy carried throughout their whole black & white wedding day. From their sweet ceremony surrounded by loved ones to the champagne-popping celebration with their wedding party. The bridesmaids stunned in sleek black dresses, each with their own unique neckline and fit. Then, the groomsmen provided a style anchor for the day in matching crisp black suits.
At the reception, guests embraced the couple’s chic B&W dress code, creating an atmosphere that was elegant and so put together! It was fun to photograph! The space was filled with lush florals by The Local Petal. White blooms and greenery that tied every detail together beautifully.
From heartfelt toasts to an energetic dance floor, the night was everything a celebration should be: full of laughter, happy tears, and endless dancing.
Rachel and Vincent shared the sweetest first dance, completely lost in the moment as the sun set through the windows. Mintahoe Catering provided the yummiest dinner for everyone, and Instant Request DJ kept the dance floor came alive. It packed with friends and family celebrating the newlyweds under the warm glow of the lights. They spent their special day surrounded by people they love. Truly, at the end of the day, that’s what you need!
In short, it’s safe to say that Rachel and Vincent’s black & white wedding day was nothing short of perfect! And I felt so honored to be there to document it!
