Zoë and Blane’s day was the kind of wedding that makes you fall in love with what I do all over again. Their Minnesota August wedding was the perfect mix of heartfelt moments, laid-back energy, and seriously stunning details. Seriously, the photographer in me was so happy to photograph allllll the hard work and intention that Zoe and Blane put into their celebration.
The entire day all wrapped up in that golden late-summer light that makes everything feel a little extra magical.
From the moment I arrived, there was so much joy in the air. Zoë and her crew were laughing together while getting ready. The air buzzing with excitement. Her dress was effortlessly elegant. I mean talk about CLASSIC BRIDE VIBES. The white satin with clean lines and a train that moved like it was made for her. She paired it with simple pearls and a bouquet of ivory roses and eucalyptus. She was a vision!
Blane and his guys spent some time outside before getting ready. Soaking in the sunshine, swapping stories and building excitement for this big moments!
For the first looks, they decided to go a little non-traditional.
Zoe had a moment with grandparents first. Their sweet reactions made me tear up a little, not gonna lie. As a photographer, I am here to document this story for the generations to come. And seeing the older generations marveling at how amazing she looked as a bride… it just felt so full circle to me!
The bride and groom’s first look was one of my favorite moments of the day too. The kind that reminded me again why I love storytelling through photos. (Can you tell how sentimental and amazing this day was!?!) As Zoë tapped Blane on the shoulder, he turned around and just beamed. You could feel the emotion radiating between them as they took a moment to breathe, laugh, and soak it all in before the day really began.
The ceremony for their Minnesota August Wedding took place outdoors under a wooden arch dressed with blush and ivory florals.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. I mean, we’re talking clear skies, a light breeze, and 75 degrees of pure perfection (a true midwest wedding dream). Guests cheered as Zoë and Blane raised their hands in triumph, officially married (!!!!) and glowing with joy.
The celebration that followed was full of all the best things. Incredible food from A’BriTin Catering, watercolor portraits being painted live by Michelle Glanville, and so much fun from every guest. As the sun set, warm light spilled into the open-air reception space at Milk & Honey Ciders, giving everything that soft, dreamy glow. Zoë and Blane shared their first dance surrounded by family and friends, and I swear the love in that room was tangible.
From start to finish, it was the kind of day that just felt right. Relaxed, joy-filled, and completely centered around the two of them. Yes please!!
This Minnesota August wedding was such a beautiful reminder that when love is at the heart of it all, everything else falls perfectly into place.
