New Years Eve Elopement in Swanville

The Story

Julie and James had a simple New Years Eve elopement in Swanville, MN. With the health of Julie’s mother declining, they decided to elope sooner rather than waiting for a big wedding so that her mom could be there. The air was crisp, as expected in the middle of a Minnesota winter, and the trees were covered in a beautiful layer of frost.

When I arrived to Julie and James’ house, they were just finishing getting ready so they could share their first look with one another. Snowflakes were falling as they exchanged smiles, a sweet kiss, and got ready for some portraits together.

After spending a bit of time outside, we warmed back up inside the Swanville Park’s event space to prepare for the ceremony. Family and friends slowly poured into the building and gathered to tell their favorite stories of Julie and James. Following a tear-jerking short ceremony, they celebrated and prepared to dance the night away.

It was such an honor to spend a short amount of time with these two beautiful people and I’m so glad that Julie’s mom was able to enjoy watching her daughter say “I do”.

Julie + James,
Thank you for sharing and trusting me to capture your wedding day.
I wish you years of love and laughter as husband and wife.

Gracefully yours,
Samantha
