The Day
This is the story of the sweetest, elopement in Alaska’s untamed wilderness. The couple, Caitlin and Brad, are so in love and wanted a small, intimate wedding that really reflected who they are. And you know what? They nailed it with this Alaska elopement adventure. And we even saw a mama moose and her calf along the way!
Caitlin has always had a deep love for Alaska, so when they were planning their wedding, they knew it had to be there. They got ready in this cozy Airbnb and then met us at Beluga Point, not far from Girdwood and Anchorage, for the ceremony. Let me paint you a picture – the waves crashing on the shore, the clouds caressing the mountaintops in the background. It was pure magic.
After saying their vows and capturing some beautiful portraits, we embarked on a glacier hike. Can you imagine the views? It was absolutely breathtaking. And guess what? Caitlin totally embraced the adventure and even slid down the snow in her wedding dress. I mean, talk about fearless!
But the adventure didn’t stop there. We headed to Alyeska, a place that holds a special meaning for Caitlin, Brad, and their family. They’ve spent so many wonderful times there, so it was only fitting to include it in their elopement. We hopped on a tram and went all the way to the top, where we took a little break to enjoy the views and capture even more photos. It was pure joy, my friend.
After the tram ride down, Caitlin and Brad continued on their wedding day journey, soaking in every moment of their elopement adventure. It was truly the icing on top of the most perfect cake. I can’t even begin to describe the happiness that radiated from them throughout the day.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have been a part of this special day and to have captured these timeless, candid moments of love during this Alaska elopement adventure. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love being a photographer. There’s something so raw and natural about elopements – they allow couples to really focus on their connection and celebrate in a way that truly speaks to them.
Caitlin and Brad’s elopement was more than just a fairytale – it was an ode to the natural, candid, and joyful moments that make up a love story. It was a reminder that love knows no boundaries, no limitations, and no timeline. And as a photographer, I am honored to have been a witness to their story, forever grateful for the opportunity to capture their love against the backdrop of Alaska’s untamed beauty.
