The Story: A Springtime Lakeside Mountain Elopement
There’s something truly magical about elopements. As a wedding photographer, I get to witness some of life’s most intimate and beautiful love stories unfold. This past Thursday, I had the incredible honor of capturing Mariah and Brent’s elopement in the heart of Colorado, right by the stunning Lake Dillon near Silverthorne. It was a ceremony bursting with raw emotion, a love story set against a dramatic mountain backdrop that will be a cherished memory forever.
The Vows:
Imagine this: crisp mountain air, a panoramic view of snow-capped peaks reaching for the sky, and Mariah and Brent standing on the rocky shore of a partially frozen lake. The vastness of the winter wonderland stretched before them as I set up my video camera and microphone. This allowed them to fully embrace the privacy and significance of the moment, their vows echoing across the majestic landscape. Knowing they planned to use the video of their vows to share this special moment with loved ones at their reception back home made the whole experience even more heartwarming.
After sealing their union with a kiss, they officially documented their “I do’s” with the signing of the marriage certificate. With the ceremony complete, we capitalized on the breathtaking scenery by driving up to Sapphire Point to capture some stunning photos as the sun dipped below the horizon.
The Photos:
Out of the wind and bathed in the golden light of the setting hour, Mariah and Brent strolled along the path overlooking Lake Dillon, their joy radiating through every frame. As their photographer, it was an absolute privilege to capture these intimate moments – the genuine love in their eyes, the pure joy etched on their faces.
To conclude their special elopement day, this wonderful couple included their adorable son and Brent’s parents in a few heartwarming family photos near the parking lot.
