Enchanting Backyard Wedding in Pine City

Charming, intimate wedding with sweet little details

After a few hiccups in the wedding planning process, Louisa and Adam finally tied the knot and celebrated with the most perfect day. When I pulled up to Mike’s (Adam’s dad) farm, there was a slight mist coming down and the ground was saturated from the overnight rains. Louisa was getting pampered with makeup before she had some lunch and put on her dress. I’ll never forget the look on her mom’s face when she saw Louisa. There’s no doubt that she was one proud mama!

To say that Adam and Louisa had an amazing crew as their wedding party is an understatement. They were some of the most hands-on, helpful, and all around sweetest humans I’ve ever met. Not only did they help with everything in making sure the day would go off without a hitch, but they were attentive and genuinely joyful for Louisa and Adam. That, and they did earn some major brownie points by being so enthusiastic when we were having fun taking their wedding party photos.

The sweetest moment of the day, in my opinion, was the ceremony. Adam’s mom, Krista, is a Minnesota judge and thoughtfully crafted the most beautiful ceremony I’ve ever witnessed. It was an amazing balance of backstory, humor, and reflection. Between that and the beautiful speeches after dinner, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that these two are surrounded by so many people who love them deeply.

One thing that was important to Adam and Louisa was to include as many personal touches and details as possible. With the entire day being held at Adam’s dad’s property, Adam’s mom being the officiant, Louisa’s dad’s guitar performance, serving their favorite wines to their guests (generously supplied by their dear friends work at wineries in Oregon), and serving three beers- one from Adam’s hometown, one from Louisa’s, and one from Oregon, where they live now. To top that off, even their wedding colors were chosen because the colors are Adam’s favorite (navy) and Louisa’s favorite (yellow).

Overall, their day was a lovely balance of soft and romantic while also being fun and full of energy. A great example of this was Lee’s (Louisa’s dad) incredible guitar performance which left many of us without a dry eye and the way that everyone quickly hopped onto the dance floor, enjoyed the photo booth, and loved feeding the goats.

From the intimate first look, the tears in her dad’s eyes, the beautifully written vows, to the dance floor excitement and everything in between, this day is truly one to remember.

Thank you Louisa and Adam for trusting me to capture your wedding day.
I wish you years of love and laughter as husband and wife.

Gracefully yours,
Samantha
