The Story: A Fairytale Winter Elopement

You won’t believe the freezing but magical winter elopement I just shot in Minnesota. It was a straight-up subzero day, but man, the love between this couple kept them warm! The day kicked off with a sweet little ceremony at their home church, surrounded by their pastors. I have to say, there’s something so timeless about exchanging vows in a cozy church, don’t you think?

After the I dos, we braved the icy roads and made our way to Quarry Park in Saint Cloud for some breathtaking portraits. Let me tell you, the snowy landscape made for the perfect backdrop. The couple’s love literally radiated through the cold air, it was such a joy to capture. Despite the freezing temperatures, their smiles were warm and their laughter filled the air. It was truly a candid and fun session.

I have to commend this couple for their adventurous spirit. Not everyone would be up for an outdoor shoot in such extreme weather, but they embraced the challenge with open arms. This kind of willingness to go the extra mile makes my job as a photographer incredibly fulfilling.

As we clicked away, a sense of serenity washed over all of us. The stillness of the snow-covered park combined with the couple’s genuine connection created a truly ethereal atmosphere. Every image I captured felt like a precious moment frozen in time. I know these photos will bring warmth to the couple’s hearts for years to come, even on the coldest of winter days.

The freezing temperatures eventually got the best of us, and we had to call it a day. But let me tell you, the memories we made will last a lifetime. This winter elopement reminded me once again why I love what I do. Being able to freeze moments like these and create lifelong memories for couples is why I became a photographer in the first place.
