Summer Wedding in St. Joseph

The Day

As a photographer, capturing the essence of a couple’s special wedding day is always a rewarding experience. And let me tell you, Emily and Nick’s summer wedding in St. Joseph, Minnesota was truly a celebration filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments. The summer weather couldn’t have been more perfect, with the sun shining brightly, and a gentle breeze in the air.

From the very beginning, I knew that this wedding would be something magical. The day started with the girls getting ready in the bridal suite at Rolling Ridge. It was nostalgic for Emily, as she had actually worked at the venue for years. There was an air of excitement as the girls prepared for the big day ahead.

Meanwhile, the guys were getting ready in the Rooster’s Roost, sharing stories, and making sure their ties were straight. Nick’s anticipation was palpable, and I could sense that he was eagerly looking forward to seeing his bride.

Before Emily shared her first look with Nick, though, she shared a tear-jerking first look with her dad. It was clear that this was a moment they would cherish – especially when she gifted dad a special set of “peanut” cufflinks, his childhood nickname for her.

And then came the moment we had been waiting for – Emily and Nick’s first look. They chose to have it under the gorgeous willow tree, creating the perfect backdrop for their special moment together. As they saw each other for the first time, their faces lit up with joy, and you could feel the love radiating between them.

After capturing some portraits, we made our way to the back of the property for a few additional bride and groom photos along with wedding party and family photos. The laughter and camaraderie among the group was infectious, and I couldn’t help but smile as I snapped away. These candid moments truly encapsulated the happiness and love surrounding Emily and Nick on their wedding day.

As the ceremony began, family and friends gathered to witness the union of Emily and Nick. Live music from the St. Cloud String Quartet filled the air. The bride’s brother, Alex, officiated the ceremony beautifully, and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. The tree planting unity ceremony, with dirt from both of their parents’ properties, symbolized their coming together as one, was a touching moment that will definitely be remembered.

After the ceremony, we headed down to the Root Cellar for some celebratory drinks and to sign the marriage license. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation for the festivities ahead. It was a time for the couple and their guests to relax, enjoy each other’s company, and toast to the newlyweds.

The evening continued with a delicious meal, heartfelt speeches, and of course, dancing. The DJ brought an epic nitrous cannon to the dance floor, adding an extra dose of fun and energy to the night. It was a true celebration of love, and I couldn’t help but dance along while capturing the vibrant and exuberant moments.

Being a part of Emily and Nick’s wedding was an absolute honor. The day was filled with timeless beauty, candid moments, natural emotions, and palpable joy. As a photographer, it is these moments that I live for, and I am grateful to have been able to capture them for this amazing couple.

To Emily and Nick, may your love continue to grow and flourish, and may you cherish these memories for a lifetime. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day.

Gracefully yours,
Samantha
