An Experienced Photographer

First, let’s acknowledge that rain on your big day is a concern for a lot of people. It can feel like a curveball, but rest assured it is a challenge I am more than equipped to handle. This is one of those situations where an experienced photographer is going to be invaluable to you! With years of experience under my belt, I’ve navigated all kinds of weather conditions. While you may feel flustered by the unexpected weather, I’m not! I am prepared to capture beautiful photos regardless of the weather.

Advantages of Rain

Let’s talk about the silver lining. Rainy wedding days offer a unique opportunity for capturing romantic, moody shots. Soft light and glistening raindrops can add a dreamy look to your shots. And if the rain lets up, there are often really vibrant colors that add a fun look to your photos. Of course, we’ll work together to decide whether to embrace the weather or seek shelter; your vision guides every step and I’m there to help you along the way.

Backup Plans

So, what’s the plan if the skies decide to open up? Fear not, because I’ve got you covered with a range of backup options. All of these options would have likely already been discussed during our final meeting before your big day, so you can feel confident.

Indoor Locations

The first option is to move things indoors. If outdoor portraits are off the table, there are so many indoor spots we can find that will be beautiful. Some great locations are hotel lobbies, reception halls, and covered walkways. These spaces not only provide shelter from the rain, but can also be a beautiful backdrop for your photos. And rest assured, we’ll scout these locations in advance, ensuring they align perfectly with your vision.

Umbrellas

Let’s not forget about everyone’s favorite rainy-day accessory: umbrellas! I ALWAYS come prepared with at least a dozen clear umbrellas at every wedding, regardless of the forecast. Using umbrellas can add a playful touch to your photos. Whether it’s classic black or clear bubble umbrellas, we’ll find the perfect props to complement your style. Clear umbrellas are often a great choice for an unobstructed view of the couple. And who knows? These umbrellas might just lead to some candid and emotional moments captured on camera.

Rain or shine, my focus remains squarely on capturing your love story. I promise you that we can make the most of your big day, no matter the weather. I have a lot of experience in how to handle rain on your wedding day. We’ll be prepared for anything. I’ll be flexible with the needs of the day, making sure you are comfortable and confident.
