Marissa and Luke’s June wedding at Abella Weddings and Events was filled with the kind of moments you wish you could bottle up and keep forever. From the stormy skies rolling in before the ceremony to the golden light that followed, their day was everything romantic & dreamy.
When they inquired with me, they told me their vision was classic, timeless, natural, and fun. And every part of their big day reflected it.

The white barn, sprawling green fields, white fencing, and mature trees created this incredibly beautiful backdrop without needing much added to it. If you’re getting married in Minnesota and looking for an elevated, classic MN look… this might be the venue for you. You can check it out here!
Marissa chose a gorgeous floral lace gown with delicate straps and a long, flowing veil. Luke was the picture of a classic groom in his black suit and tie. Their wedding party wore black, creating a a visual anchor point against the greenery and creamy whites throughout the venue.
The bride and groom got ready separately at the venue with their closest friends.
Marissa did a little dress reveal with her bridesmaids on the porch, and it was such a fun moment of the day! She also did a first look with her dad. Those memories unfolding on wedding days always make me emotional! Especially now I am a parent myself!
The Weather Made It Even Better
There was a little bit of a weather scare leading up to the ceremony. But everyone pivoted, and the clouds ended up giving us something pretty incredible.
The dramatic sky behind Marissa and Luke during their special first look & bride & groom portraits was unforgettable. Deep, dark clouds stretched across the horizon while they walked hand in hand through the fields.
Later, Marissa and Luke wandered through the trees for golden-hour portraits. The light streamed through the leaves in such a magical way as they laughed, kissed, and soaked in a few quiet moments together.
A Wedding Centered on What Matters
When Marissa and Luke first reached out, they shared that she had put so much thought into the details of the day. But what they were truly most excited about was starting their life together. They wanted to enjoy the day. Being present and loving on their friends & family was really important to them.
And they did exactly that.
From the emotional moments with family to their ceremony outside the barn, their joyful walk back down the aisle, and an incredibly fun reception, the entire day was centered around connection.
One of my favorite moments of connection throughout the day was Grandma with her “gram cam”! She recorded the day and it was just such a memorable and fun time. I know they’re going to look back on those videos Grandma took in 10 years and just feel nothing but happy nostalgia.
Abella Weddings and Events gave them the beautiful setting. Their people brought the energy. And Marissa and Luke brought the heart.
